Senior Project Manager

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for managing solar construction projects in accordance with project contracts, schedules, budgets, and design specifications, as well as managing a team of Project Managers and Project Coordinators ensuring regional project successes. In addition, the Senior Project Manager is responsible for maintaining positive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

Principle Responsibilities:
• Responsible for project management and execution of multiple contracted projects as well as providing input on new project development.
• Manage all aspects of construction including budget and schedule, contractor supervision, and client relationships.
• Ensure projects are executed ahead of schedule and under budget.
• Ensure overall adherence of contractors to contracts.
• Establish and maintain positive relationships and ongoing communications with all relevant stakeholders.
• Represent the company in stakeholder meetings during the construction phase of the project.
• Manage other Deployment staff, providing regional leadership, experience, and mentorship.
• Responsible for delegating work as necessary to ensure efficiency.
• Responsible for successful project deployment in the region.
• Responsible for successful constant risk evaluation and mitigation
• Provide summary project status and data through reporting to the Vice President of Projects.
• Work closely with the Procurement and Development teams during pre-contract phases, including negotiating
EPC contracts.
• Assist the Vice President of Projects in developing and implementing company-wide procedures and policies.

Reporting Relationships & Interactions:
• Reports to the Vice President of Projects.
• Manages multiple internal employees.
• Manages multiple external parties as needed to complete projects successfully.

Financial & Organizational Scope:
• Responsible for establishing and monitoring of all project budgets.
• Accountability for all key performance indicators within the regional Deployment team.

Requirements:
Experience & Education:
• 4-year technical Degree required - Engineering, Construction Management preferred
• 6-8 years of experience as a project manager of renewable energy construction projects.
• Proven track record in successful construction management in renewable energy.
• Construction project management of Commercial and Industrial renewable energy projects a plus.
• Project management certifications are an asset but not required (ie. PMP or similar).
• Experience working with clients in a rapidly evolving environment and developing creative solutions to meet conflicting needs.

Abilities:
• Manage multiple parties as need to complete projects ahead of schedule and under budget.
• Strong communication, presentation, negotiation and influencing skills.
• Understanding of all aspects of the project, including engineering, technical competence, constructability, and schedule to achieve project success.
• Ability to effectively coordinate and handle, under pressure, multiple projects with a high degree of independence and professional judgment to meet or beat project key performance indicators.
• Demonstrated ability to read, interpret, and manage design, development, and construction documents, specifications, and bids, and recommend changes or additions.

Knowledge & Skills:
• Self-starter, highly organized, resourceful, and comfortable working in an entrepreneurial environment.
• Highly proficient in MS Office suite, data management, and reporting.
