Performance Operations Manager

Location: New York, NY, United States
The Performance Manager of Renewable Assets is responsible for the day-to-day oversight of reporting and performance management of wind, hydro and solar assets, including operational performance, reporting, issue resolution and special projects. The role involves effective and close collaboration with plant management, shared service organizations and leadership throughout the renewable energy division and beyond. A successful candidate will leverage a combination of strong technical and business knowledge, as well as extensive experience in the renewable business to provide accurate and timely reporting on operations, with an eye towards improving internal processes and maximizing operational and financial performance of the assets. Must demonstrate strong experience in analytics, including system-driven operational reporting and ad-hoc custom reporting, to develop and leverage insights to drive management decision making. An additional critical aspect of this role will be to contribute to implementation and integration of global operational analytical systems across the full portfolio.

  • Holistic view of performance analysis, helping the organization to tie conclusions with finance, commercial, regulatory and other departments in the company
  • Capacity to support data driven decisions, propose solutions and project manage some of our capital investments
  • Managerial skillset to manage effectively in a matrix organization
  • Able to manage contractor engagements related to performance analysis
  • Comfortable in working with big datasets, ensuring consistency of analysis and developing statistical analysis
  • Rigor and accuracy in reporting:
    • Power Curve Analysis;
    • EAF, EFOR and SOF analysis;
    • Capacity to breakdown KPIs in sub-components;
    • Ability to correlate technical and financial data
  • Capacity to perform or support root cause analysis when necessary
  • Ability to contribute to strategic decision making, evaluation of growth opportunities, decisions for optimization of operations
  • Strong understanding of SCADA and CMS systems along with KPIs and data driven decisions
Technical knowledge
  • Strong technical knowledge of wind power with a minimum of 3 years in the wind power industry, and willingness to learn about Hydro and Solar
  • Understanding of resource assessment, plant losses and probability of exceedance
  • Basic plant IT understanding, especially in as it relates to analytics and management reporting systems
  • Capacity to read projects, standards and technical specifications
  • Understanding of turbine supply contracts and O&M agreements
Ability to travel internationally 20%-30%
