Junior Solar Developer

Location: New York, NY, United States
Junior Solar Developer position requiring a knowledge of the solar and renewable energy markets and skills in identifying and pre-qualifying sales opportunities. Knowledge of what makes for a quality solar project and customer are key. This position will:
  • Work directly with sales and marketing via internal and external communications to help generate new sales, build larger programs for existing clients, and effectively market completed research
  • Perform Lead Generation and market analysis
  • Generate project proposals and quotes for customers ranging from utilities, C&I, MUSH market(s)
  • Respond to RFPs as required
  • Lead primary data collection, both qualitative and quantitative, on state market trends and customer/project analysis. Conduct competitive intelligence, including market and pricing trend analysis for the direct development of high impact customer presentations and offerings.
  • Log and maintain all communications with customers in Salesforce CRM contact database
  • Familiarity with solar power purchase agreements, land option agreements
  • 1-3 years of a successful track record of technical sales support in C&I, MUSH and Utility markets (non-residential solar)
  • Four-year college degree, preferably in Finance or Engineering
  • Experience with self-generating customer leads and pre-qualification

  • A deep intellectual curiosity about the effect of a wider business landscape; solid business instincts and a practical understanding of what drives markets based on economic principles
