Sales Manager - Advanced Chemicals and Materials

Location: Dayton, OH, United States
The Sales Manager will manage sales and technical service for customers and potential customers, and effectively present advanced technologies and specialized product lines. Technical fit and a track record of solid sales achievements are equally important.

  • Achieve budgeted sales revenue and agreed upon prices at responsible accounts. Plan marketing and sales strategy in order to meet and exceed budget.
  • Develop, coordinate and implement an Account Plan, including tailored value proposition.
  • Actively support sales of US based products into Asia in close cooperation with local sales teams.
  • Develop productive long-term relationships at various levels and disciplines to maximize the value of the short & long term business. 
  • Generate and negotiate agreements with each account to coordinate and drive sales.
  • Provide a monthly rolling forecast of the responsible accounts. Report on market intelligence, competitive intelligence, forecasts, account plans and sales pipeline on an account level via CRM.
  • Analyze the competitive landscape and prepare reports and analysis about competitors’ activities. Evaluate market situation, industry trends, and competitive environment in relationship to the company’s strategy.  Regularly update management on these items.
  • Attend and participate in technical conferences, trade shows, and educational courses to remain current in the field as it relates to competitors as well as existing and future technologies.
  • Maintain close contact to key personnel at existing and potential new customers within the Americas as well as support sales in Asia.  Communicate with customers face-to-face, by phone, and via email.
What is required for this role:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or related field, and 5 plus years of industry related experience in technical sales is required. Experience working within the semiconductor industry is preferred.
  • Must have strong customer service orientation and be an effective communicator. 
  • Must have previous experience dealing with global customers, preferably in Asia.   
  • Track record of successfully meeting deadlines through initiative and proactive approach required. Self-starter with an attention to detail is required.
  • Demonstrate a high level of professionalism; exhibit a high level of project management, negotiation, and presentation skills. 
  • Location flexible for the right candidate. Must have access to an airport to meet travel needs. Travel includes both domestic and international.
