Senior Construction Manager

Senior Construction Manager
Key responsibilities:
The primary responsibilities of the Senior Construction Manager will include the following:
  • Provide technical due diligence of wind, solar, and battery storage projects during development phase.
  • Strong involvement in pre-construction design, construction cost estimation, engineering and procurement processes of wind, solar and battery storage projects, including rendering of RFPs and scope descriptions, contract review, negotiation and management.
  • Review construction documents for completeness and compliance with utility interconnect agreements, power purchase agreements, land lease agreements, and environmental permits.
  • Ensure division of responsibility is coordinated between various stakeholders, EPC/BOP contractor and major component suppliers. Ensures schedule and delivery provisions of major equipment agreements are compatible with project needs, PPA, financing and EPC/BOP contract and documents.
  • Manage contract administration including terms, change requests, invoices, and progress payments.
  • Execute the construction of the projects; be accountable for the safety, quality, cost and schedule of the project. Serve as the lead negotiator for scope and schedule specifics of the project. This may involve establishment and implementation of certain project objective and procedures, to ensure delivery of a profitable project.
  • Be responsible for project interface with interconnecting utility. Ensure documents and drawings required by interconnect and power purchase agreements are provided in a timely manner. Procure and review monthly progress report to utilities.
  • Be responsible for monthly construction progress reporting before and during construction and to furnish written status updates as required.
  • Lead the management of third party technical engineering support of project work, particularly relating to the design and performance of major equipment, project design, grading engineers, substation related and associated.
  • Promote incident and injury free workplace through strict adherence to health and safety.
  • Mentor and manage team members as well as establish and foster a team environment.

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, civil or construction management is desired.
  • 10+ years of experience in construction management overseeing large projects with at least 5 years of focused experience in wind farm construction management and wind farm design engineering.
  • Understanding of ACI, IEC, IEEE, ICC, ASTM, AASHTO, OSHA and other typical industry standards.
  • Proven success in utility-scale wind, solar, and transmission construction.
  • Proven ability to fulfill development to closeout responsibilities for multiple, complex projects.
  • Detail oriented with the ability to organize and manage multiple project tasks.
  • Ability to comprehend and analyze technical information.
  • Possess thorough understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Strong cross-cultural relationship building and influencing at all organizational levels.
  • Excellent written and oral communication and organizational skills. These include but are not limited to: contract review, technical document review, business communication, event description, performance reviews and various reporting.
  • Flexible and cooperative with a well-developed team spirit.
  • Demonstrated ability to complete larger construction projects on schedule within budget.
  • Current driver’s license and ability to travel.
