Structural & Civil Solar Engineer

Location: New York, NY, United States
Job Description:
Design Solar Power projects including civil, structural, mechanical and electrical aspects utilizing AutoCAD, PVsyst and other design tools
Coordinate the power interconnection process with local distribution utilities and regional transmission organizations
Provide solar technical consulting expertise to clientele as needed to address immediate needs or long-term strategies
Conduct site visits to prospective project locations for project feasibility assessments
Conduct engineering inspections at sites with active construction or recently completed project for quality control and progress reporting
Create and maintain project documentation related to project design and development
Communicate with project development and project management teams to coordinate design requirements and scheduling

Bachelors degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering
Minimum of five (5) years of experience with the design and engineering of solar power generation facilities
P.E. License
Substantial experience with Solar Power Generation project engineering.
Substantial experience forecasting electricity production capability and assessing electrical load and energy consumption requirements
Substantial experience creating mechanical and structural construction drawings, specifications and bid documentation
Substantial experience evaluating and satisfying utility interconnection requirements
Substantial experience with and mastery of power systems analysis and modeling software
Substantial experience with all applicable federal, state and local building codes and laws
Substantial experience with and mastery of energy industry regulations, codes and standards
