Solar Quality Manufacturing Manager

Responsible for overseeing the generation and approval of manufacturing documentation, including procedures, work instructions, SOPs, and forms of the quality management system to become ISO 9000/14001 certified.  Will provide technical support on the quality system and the ISO audits while striving to achieve a world class-manufacturing environment.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Develop, apply and maintain quality requirements and standards for the development and manufacture of products
  • Coordinate, implement, lead, certify and maintain the Quality and Environmental Management System for ISO 9000/14001 certification
  • Work with and provide leadership to manufacturing teams in the development and maintenance of the quality and environmental management system implementation
  • Maintain all quality records and documentation in support of the Quality and Environmental Management System in accordance with the Quality Manual and specific customer requirements
  • Develop and present management reviews
  • Support concurrent engineering efforts by participating in design development projects representing Quality Assurance and the customer
  • Promote and execute quality standards, inspection processes, and test methodology, quality plans, documents and reports. Assist in process certification
  • Develop, execute and analyze quality-reporting measures.
  • Report to management on quality issues, trends and losses
  • Act as lead auditor and provide training for internal quality audits within the factory
  • May direct, manage and lead the activities of inspectors and technicians in the consistent application of discipline and control resources, processes and ensure adherence to company policies
  • Coordinate and implement customer audits
  • Interface with supplier and customer quality representatives concerning problems with quality assurance and assure that effective corrective action is implemented
  • Serve as a leader/team member of Lean manufacturing, 5’s, Six Sigma and Kaizen initiatives and projects on multi-disciplinary teams for corrective and preventive action
  • Manage the change notification process for product and process changes
  • Manage and direct technicians for the Calibration program for mechanical and electrical test equipment
  • Manage and direct regulatory compliance for listing agencies (i.e. UL and ETL)
 
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Manufacturing-related field (or equivalent training and work experience)
  • Experience implementing and maintaining ISO 9001 and ISO14001 standards and Quality Control within a high volume consumer electronic manufacturing environment
  • Understanding of the manufacturing environment with SAP experience or C++ project experience
  • Lean manufacturing principles understanding
  • The ability to interpret engineering drawings and basic electrical schematics.
  • In-depth knowledge of quality systems, policies and procedures and the ability to apply that knowledge to the interpretation of customer requirements
  • Diverse knowledge of inspection control methods, techniques and documentation
  • Relational database experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Suite, high-level proficiency with Excel
