Solar Maintenance Manufacturing Manager

The Maintenance manufacturing manager will be responsible for the day to day operations of their manufacturing facility.  
  • Prepare detailed plans to accomplish integration of all technical activities and accomplish goals and directives.
  • Responsible for new equipment technologies including manufacturing, quality improvements. Equipment upgrades, process technologies, and tooling and manufacturing techniques.
  • Planning and directing installation, testing, operation, maintenance, and repair of equipment in the manufacturing processes within the facility.
  • Approve, review, and direct product and design changes
  • Work with management, production, and marketing staff to ensure specifications and procedures are completed to company quality specifications.
  • Responsible for analyzing, resourcing, and qualifying customer demands through feasibility studies.
  • Review and write reports, approval expenditures, enforce rules, and decide on purchase materials or services while adhering to administrative tasks.
  • Present findings internally and externally, and explain proposals.
  • Purchase maintenance materials and outside technical services with established company standards.
  • Responsible for preparing bids and contracts including negotiating with with vendors and recommend or approve contracts and cost estimates.
  • Prepare all documents and evaluations to determine the best options for the company.
  • Responsible for preparing and implementing policies and standards for process improvements for engineers and technical work performed in the facility.
  • Ensure technical goals are met.
  • Set maintenance standards, schedules, preventive maintenance guidelines and systems.
  • Investigate failures and unexpected breakdowns of equipment and provide corrective actions to improve reliability and performance.
  • Responsible for the implementation of PM and PD plans with automated software packages.
  • Manage and plan all critical spare and wear components and parts.
  • Responsible for continuous improvement tasks and reporting back to management.
  • Ensure facility runs smoothly and optimal at all times.
  • Successfully hand off projects to production while managing the local plants’ capital expenses.
  • Responsible for plant equipment and building assets including inventory, storage, transfers, etc.
  • Ensure safety standards are adhered to in accordance with government regulations (OHSA, WSI, ACT, etc).
  • Responsible for hiring, training, and evaluation of employees.
  • Provide Technical support to production staff.
  • Oversee the quality and continuous improvement of the finished product.
  • Evaluate and improve upon the safety of the Company safety systems to mitigate risk.
  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering, preference given to P.Eng.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in the Solar Industry with inverters, racking, or modules.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in as a maintenance manager
  • Driven by quality and process and understands Automated Manufacturing from end to end.
  • A strong understanding of legislative requirements for health and safety in manufacturing facilities.
