The Engineering Supervisor will be assigned various tasks including coordination and execution of engineering tasks related to power conversion in energy storage and PV applications. As a Team Leader, the position shall provide leadership to the department engineers, designers and drafters, also ensuring activities are effectively coordinated with other functional departments. Analyzes, designs, selects and tests software, electrical hardware and power conversion equipment for use in grid tied or micro grid systems and applications such as energy storage or PV applications. Investigates design factors such as function, durability, performance, efficiency, cost and contractual requirements. This includes creation of requirement specifications, functional diagrams, system layouts, and drawings, develop control algorithms in Energy Management Systems, communication interfaces and PLC program logic as well as operation/ maintenance instructions and manuals. Develops and recommends solutions to engineering requirements for complex or specialized projects or systems to ensure requirements are met. Works with engineering project team or cross functional teams as well as directly with customers and suppliers. Assures technical information and generated documentation is reviewed and verified by the engineering team using established engineering practices, standards and documentation methods. Provides supporting documentation for procedures and technical reports and may provide written technical responses to customers, technical proposal support for sales and business development. Maintains and further develops leadership skills, professional and technical knowledge, by attending internal training sessions, educational workshops, reading related technical publications and participating in professional associations. May represent the company on specific project or engineering tasks. Shares specialized knowledge with other team members. Prepares material and perform customer training sessions in-house as well as at customer facilities. Recommends product qualification procedures and parameters to achieve required and improved product reliability and safety standards – failure analysis, process improvements, test procedures, etc. Participates in testing and validation of designed and built product. May lead commissioning of complex systems in the field. In addition to these essential functions, the job includes other functions that may be assigned at the discretion of the company.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent. Electrical engineering experience in renewable energy field, min 5-7 years with proven track record. Experience leading a team, guiding and supporting other team members. Control Systems Experience with SCADA interfacing/ PLC. LabView and CoDeSys knowledge. Practical experience using Power Analyzers, Oscilloscopes and other electrical metering equipment. Experience in power electronics- inverter technology, design and engineering. Experience and ability generate electrical drawings, concepts, layouts, cable lists, etc. Common understanding of general electrical engineering practices and standards. Fluent in technical documentation as well as generate (write) project required documentation. Microsoft Word , PowerPoint and Excel skills. AutoCad experience.
