The Product Marketing Manager is responsible for product strategy and planning, end market applications management along with development and conception and executing strategies for profitable growth. The Product Marketing Manager must possess a deep and complete understanding of external dynamics impacting the  market including global demand and capacity, market trends and the competitive landscape. Additionally, the Product Marketing Manager:
  • Leads activities to achieve desired target margins and drive key strategic growth and investment initiatives in regards to expansion, cost or quality improvement in conjunction with other functions of the organization.
  • Develop and execute short term and long term product strategy.
  • Lead and manage the end market product portfolio focusing on new applications, new products and aligning with industry trends to insure growth.
  • Develops in-depth energy storage  market expertise as drivers for business forecasting including correlation factors, alternative technologies, and demand drivers for the energy storage sector.
  • Develop optimal product mix strategy in both long and short term.
  • Determine global market pricing trends based on supply & demand, outside projections that lead to long term forecasting of industry and market growth.
  • Plays a leadership role in new product growth and line extension initiatives.
  • Develops business justification and financial support for market application and longer term development projects that are aligned with the global business strategy.
  • Fulfill role of commercial lead for assigned projects.
  • Works with industry experts, consultants, trade organizations for executing strategic projects.
  • Prepares materials for corporate reviews, assists investor relations, government relations, business development, and marketing communications function.
  • Assists in evaluating business case for capacity expansion

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Possesses the communication and presentation skills to regularly interface with senior management across functional lines.
  • Ability to understand current product applications, customers, competitors, product specifications and quality requirements.
  • Necessary skills and knowledge to develop and drive  global product portfolio strategy in conjunction with other functions in the organization.
  • Ability to work closely with operations, logistics and sales to ensure revenue, margin and customer quality goals are met.
  • Strong ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions through quantitative analysis
  • Ability to manage numerous projects simultaneously in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft CRM, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Word; SAP

Education:                                                  
  • BS degree in engineering, marketing, or business preferred with MBA strongly preferred.
  • 5+ years of marketing and technical sales of products in the renewables or battery industry.
  • Product management, supply chain and contract negotiations experience strongly preferred.
  • Marketing processes and standardization plus working knowledge of global networking experience a strong plus. Working knowledge of all applicable laws and regulations regarding business, anti-trust, and safety and health.
