Land Manager

The Land Manager will be responsible for all Utility Scale Solar development projects in the western US portfolio. This will include site screening, identification of suitable sites, land acquisition, contract
negotiation with the landowners, easement and title curation, etc. The successful candidate will perform site screening based on the grid capacity and site constraints, identify and evaluate suitable sites for utility scale solar projects, identify the landowner contact information and contact the landowners, and lead structuring and negotiation of commercial transactions (Option to Lease, Option to Purchase, Easement Agreement, Crossing Agreement) with landowners and any other right
holders. 

Additionally you will be responsible for leading title curation efforts (mineral right waiver, subordination agreement, affidavits, etc) in consultation with internal / external legal counsels and title companies and coordinate efforts among the key project stakeholders, select, manage, and direct third party land agents, consultants and other development partners, and remain abreast of renewable energy opportunities in the United States and the national industry trends impacting the future of solar and renewable development opportunities and their competitiveness as they relate to customers. 

Requirements
  • Minimum of 3 years of land acquisition and project development experiences preferably in solar, renewables energy, or real estate development sector
  • Bachelor's Degree with strong academic record from a leading undergraduate program, in engineering, business administration, and economics preferred
  • General understanding of land lease/purchase agreement and negotiation skills
  • General understanding of title reports and legal documents such as Easement Agreement, Mineral Right Waiver Contract, Subordination Agreement, etc
  • Skilled in project management with the ability to identify and resolve potential project flaws and to prioritize critical path tasks
  •  Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, with emphasis on Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel
