The Senior Automation Deployment Engineer that will work on the design, installation, and upkeep of PLC based controls in a manufacturing environment. You will develop robust automated manufacturing processes, outstand PV and/or manufacturing, manage the design and installation of electrical/electronic equipment, including electrical power distribution systems, PLCs, instrumentation, HMIs, and integration with MES, work with multiple equipment vendors to ensure timely installation and proper operation of all solar module production equipment, cross-collaborate with members of the R&D, Reliability, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain teams, maintain, upgrade, and troubleshoot factory control systems, and write and update all documentation pertaining to electrical equipment/ systems (reports, work instructions, training manuals, etc.).
Additionally you will train operators and engineers to use HMIs for standard tasks (data entry, material tracking, etc), design, draw, and supervise the fabrication of custom automation solutions for future process needs, design, deploy, and maintain custom GUIs for operator data entry, and collaborate with overseas equipment support engineers.
Requirements
BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent and 7+ years of work experience in an industrial manufacturing environment
Proficiency with Siemens PLC hardware and software
Proficiency with Wonderware/AVEVA products
Experience maintaining automated inline processing tools
Experience troubleshooting PLC control logic for standard solar module production equipment (stringers, pick-and-place layup, laminators, trimmers, conveyors, etc.)
Experience working with and troubleshooting barcode readers
Written Mandarin Chinese language skills a plus
Experience working in cross-functional teams to drive innovation, product and process development and a demonstrated ability to articulate design trade-offs based on customer requirements
Proven record of handling multiple priorities, organizing workload, and meeting commitments
Willing and able to travel within the US and globally, up to 25% of your work time
