As Equipment Engineer you will be responsible for installation, maintenance and optimization of process equipment for building the next generation of building integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) products, researching, evaluating, and recommending the selection of tools in an assigned area which improve yield and lower operational cost, and collaborating with suppliers and internal teams to develop and evaluate process equipment and toolings.
You will also coordinate with equipment suppliers on design and qualification activities, work with cross-functional teams on equipment PO generation, logistics, and installation, create maintenance instructions for equipment and train production personnel, coordinate, track, and prioritize tool maintenance to ensure maximum tool up-time; ensure that all tools are maintained per the established schedule and within specification, and read and follow manuals, diagrams, and schematics for equipment operations, repairs, and maintenance.
Additionally you will quickly respond to equipment and tool issues to resolve problems and minimize downtime, develop spare part list and tool recovery plans, investigate and implement corrective actions to prevent repetitive breakdown, establish process control for critical process parameters and optimize process capability, validate and characterize new equipment and tools for production implementation, perform root cause analysis on critical issues and resolve problems in a timely manner, lead or participate in activities pertaining to workflow and process improvements, and develop cost reduction initiatives by effective utilization of materials and resources
BS/MS Degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent
4+ years of relevant work experience as equipment or maintenance engineer
Knowledge and ability to research, evaluate, order install, maintain, and/or upgrade various types of equipment, tools, or tool sets
Experience in working with equipment supplier and new tool bring up is a plus
Proficient in Autocad or equivalent applications
Ability to use AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar software program to create schematics or drawings
Familiar with Tool Tracking System
Proven understanding of BOMs, manufacturability, process design, and improvement methodologies
Demonstrated experience in manufacturing expansions and ramp up
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with internal and external functional teams verbally, in writing, and via presentations
Impeccable attention to detail, a process-oriented mindset, and excellent time management skills
