Chief Financial Officer

As the CFO you will be responsible for overseeing a variety of activities within the finance department, work on streamlining payroll procedures, budgeting, creating effective financial projects to reduce costs and ensure timely compliance. You will primary fiscal representative for the company, provide quality, timely financial reporting, including daily cash-flow, monthly financial statements, variance reports, annual budget, and financial analysis to support business decisions, maintain consistent report formats to ensure accurate, useful data, and take ownership of review and audit requirements such as annual financial audit.

You will also communicate accurate and complex financial information to Board Members and the CEO, manage all contracts and leases, oversee payroll procedures and implement fiscal policies necessary for compliance with regulatory requirements, implement accounting department procedures to facilitate timely and accurate flow of financial information.

Additionally you will manage relationships with partners and subcontractors to ensure monthly preparation of contractual billings, year-end close-outs and compliance, provide direction to management staff in development of budgets, perform cost analysis for current and future ventures as required by the CEO, prepare, or support preparation of, tax returns as required for agency, review quarterly payroll tax return, annual W-2’s, ensure accurate and timely preparation of annual 1099s as required, and coordinate and track technology needs for the Company, including but not limited to hardware & software maintenance, new technology, connectivity of sales equipment, management of telework solutions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic management of accounting and project finance functions as well as directing accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
  • S/he is responsible for identifying, gathering and analyzing relevant information to assess credit risk, establish viability of sources of repayment and determine appropriate loan structures.
  • Ensures financial statements are spread and analyzed, addressing industry risks, monitoring collateral requirements, loan structuring and pricing, credit analysis, monitoring credit performance and assisting with loan presentations
  • Expands and builds relationships with a high degree of resultant customer satisfactionHandles reporting on loans such as past dues, documentation and collateral exceptions, financial performance updates, portfolio profitability, risk grades, etc.
  • Keeps informed of financial and market trends in the portfolio and analyzes those trends for the effect they will have on the portfolioManages and services a portfolio of existing loan relationships.
  • Oversee audits on technology decisions related to financial systems implementations and upgrades.
  • Manage relationships with investors and identify business risks as well as hire, train and retain accounting and finance staff.
  • Be a proactive and tactical leader who thrives on the challenge of a fast growing and rapidly evolving market.

Qualifications:

  • MBA, preferably with CPA credentials
  • Minimum of 10 years of project finance and capital markets experience in renewable energy, energy, or energy efficiency. Experience in M&A, debt equity, tax equity. Strong preference for a candidate with extensive experience in residential solar.
  • Ensures financial statements are spread and analyzed, addressing industry risks, monitoring collateral requirements, loan structuring and pricing, credit analysis, monitoring credit performance and assisting with loan presentations
  • Financial modeling skills with regard to cash flow and forecasting/budgeting
  • Experience in financial analysis, structuring, underwriting and portfolio management
  • Energetic with a great work ethic and the ability to multitask
  • Self Starter with excellent leadership skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Outstanding management and communication skills
  • Motivated, independent and organized personality
  • Exceptional MS Excel and MS Office skills
  • High level understanding of systems implementation is also preferred.
  • Ability to delicately manage relationships with all financial stakeholders
