Vice President of Supply Chain

As VP of Supply Chain you will be responsible for leading and developing the direct distribution channels, supply chain and logistics, and procurement Residential and Commercial solar projects in the US and eventually internationally. 

Responsibilities:
  • Continuously develop/enhance supply chain productivity and operational processes. Implement industry best practices for forecasting, sourcing, risk mitigation, inventory, and vendor management.
  • Oversee the review of and updates to supply chain practices in accordance with “Best-in-Class”, new or changing environmental policies, standards, regulations, or laws. 
  • Seek out future potential supply partners who can help advance company efficiency and expansion.
  • Negotiate supply agreements with global vendors and manufacturers.
  • Identify and prequalify new vendors/suppliers in accordance with prequalification process.
  • Oversee contract development and administration.
  • Build and maintain key relationships with our operations team and collaborate with them to resolve quality issues with our vendors.
  • Understand key suppliers' organizational structure, financial health, negotiated Terms and Conditions, deal structure, exposure/risk, culture, and service capabilities.
  • Provide support to Business Development efforts as necessary to maintain relationships with existing customer base and support with questions about different suppliers.
  • Oversee Purchasing’s negotiation of costs and terms with suppliers or vendors and the communication of results.
  • Develop and communicate a procurement business plan; establish, communicate, and implement long-term goals for the department in order to promote effectiveness and efficiency. • Serve as the primary contact for procurement related questions, training, policy and procedure interpretation and alignment by all departments.
  • Manage current procurement policies, procedures, and programs with a focus on their ability to enhance organizational value and efficiency; meet regularly with respective departments regarding procurement for their understanding and/or recommendations to enhance policies, procedures and develop, communicate and implement new/revised policies, procedures and programs as needed.
  • Evaluate past performance data to forecast needs and production scheduling. Develop a centralized procurement program that adds value and efficiency to the organization.
  • Develop budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure for existing processes and future expansion.
  • Process purchase orders; develop bids and proposals; and reconcile any invoice discrepancies.
  • Perform market research, explore future technologies benchmarking, and establish key relationships to stay ahead of the market and allow company to respond and adapt as needed.
  • Build and maintain relationships with suppliers at various levels to create leverage to achieve and maintain favorable terms, pricing and lead times and reduce overall risk on our projects. • Identify and implement efficiency strategies in organization’s procurement process while managing risk.
  • Prepare and communicate to the Sales, Design and Construction teams – product availability, lead times, and cost roadmaps for key materials.
  • Work collaboratively with the management and design team to coordinate supplier selection, credit and terms, track supplier performance standards, and conduct ongoing evaluation.
  • Develop plans for the effective organization and temporary storage of project materials and general inventories at various company and/or independent warehouse locations.
  • Ensure maintenance of accurate records for all stored materials, and the safe, secure and orderly upkeep of company warehouses.
  • Monitor and support returns, damage replacements, and warranty claims.
  • Collaborate with other departments to improve sourcing initiatives to introduce products on time, on budget, and in stock.
  • Direct the process of mapping and selecting transportation routes to maximize on-time delivery and economy.
  • Responsible for creating an integrated team experience by ensuring role clarity, proper communication, and facilitating a culture that fosters collaboration.
  • Lead, mentor, and guide team members to ensure clear direction and career growth, ensure team members have resources and support required.
  • Provide work direction and performance evaluations.
  • Identify hiring needs and participate in hiring, discipline, and dismissal decisions if needed.
  • Build and maintain relationships with other company departments.
  • Responsible for oversight and alignment of expectations, budget, and scope of work for major equipment.
  • Manual tracking of all Safe Harbor materials.
  • Manual tracking of materials. (Tesla batteries, and Gateways)
  • Building of materials lists for out of state Hybrid and Subcontractors jobs 
Requirements: 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related fields
  • 7-10 years of related experience, with at least 3 years of supervisory experience
  • Results-oriented, metrics-driven leader with expertise in purchasing, supplier collaboration, development, and compliance
  • Experience with sourcing and procurement and building a vendor program
  • Familiarity with solar technology, concepts, and materials
  • NetSuite experience a plus
