The Solar Technician Supervisor will oversee and ensure the service department achieves set goals. Ideal candidate will be a quick learner and lead the team by showing pride in their work building morale. They will take initiative, ask for directions, and creatively troubleshoot issues.
Responsibilities:
- Manages and provides direct supervision to technicians and service coordinators on all islands
- Prioritizes service calls ensuring proper assignments to technicians based on skills
- Trains technicians and assists in other departments in responding to all service, safety and monitoring inquiries/issues
- Creates training plans and protocols as needed
- Maintains ongoing awareness of commercial and residential sites by reviewing reports submitted by the coordinators
- Maintains industry knowledge on products, latest technologies, code and norm updates and all business related aspects and developments
- Performs report audits using system portals, weekly
- Ensures action is taken, daily, based on the findings and recommendations from the portals and coordinators
- Provides weekly updates on completed and outstanding work tasks
- Provide monthly reports on deliverables for commercial operations and monitoring contracts
- Supervises, assists, and tracks installation of commercial and residential E-gauges
- Oversees and confirms job quotes provided by Service Coordinators
- Assists in dealing with RMA processes with the different partners and manufacturers to ensure proper execution, documentation submission, materials and reimbursements
- Collaborates with the Development Team on strategy and deployment of updated Service platform
Requirements:
- Demonstrates the highest level of professionalism and courtesy when interacting with colleagues, customers and vendors
- 7+ years of experience supervising and/or training employees
- 5+ years experience working with solar, PV, and storage or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience working with PV and electrical systems such as egauge, SCADAs, and other revenue grade monitoring systems, SPAN, GENERAC, TESLA, Solaredge, Fronius, SMA and Off-grid systems
- Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean record
- Current Electrical Journeyman license from the State of Hawaii or actively working on obtaining a license, must be enrolled in electrical courses at minimum
