Utility-Scale Solar Project Developer

The Solar Project Developer will help develop a diverse, robust pipeline of utility-scale solar projects in the southeast region. The Developer will focus on high quality and unique projects while working with other development team members to successfully add new projects to the development pipeline. Develop a pipeline of solar project assets to support the development goals and strategy, participate in or lead diligence activities including vetting projects for environmental, financial, interconnection, permitting, and technical constraints, communicate effectively with vendors, project partners and other stakeholders, and prioritize work to meet project deadlines, budgets and goals. Develop competitive market intelligence on competing solar developers in development territory, and develop knowledge of and relationships with third party supporting service providers for solar facilities activities (e.g: consulting engineers, estimating, environmental due diligence and site evaluation services, etc.).

Key Responsibilities:
Initiate and lead activities to identify, qualify, and secure prospects for new solar PV opportunities in the southeast and other RTO markets.
Direct all aspects of solar PV project development including siting, land acquisition, permitting, zoning, interconnection, environmental compliance, etc.
Complete due diligence of opportunities including site visits, site analysis, and interconnection screening.
Contribute to the successful identification, preparation, positioning, preparation, and issuance of winning proposals and presentations.

Substantial knowledge of renewable energy, utility, and solar PV market
Ability to travel 25% to 40% of the time. 
Self-motivated, well-organized, consistent, and detailed oriented
Excellent verbal and written communications, and presentation skills
High degree of professionalism and strong work ethic
Experience with permitting processes in a public-facing role with local permitting agencies.
Excellent organization and communication skills. Must be able to clearly articulate and identity project risks and solutions in an objective manner
Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and influencing skills
Detail-oriented, proactive and assertive while being a team player
Ability to self-start and work independently, but ask for support when needed
