As the Renewable Customer Origination Manager you will build and expand customer relations in support of new renewable projects in Canada and the United States.
Responsibilities:
Create a customer strategy in collaboration with the Power Business Development and Operations teams to deliver safe, low cost, and reliable renewable energy to customers
Conduct marketing activities that contribute toward target portfolio mix, aligning with hedging strategies; achieve growth and return targets
Conduct energy marketing solicitations, originate and negotiate short and mid-term structured transactions and power purchase agreements
Establish positive relationships with customers seeking renewable electricity in target markets to grow new business
Collaborate across Business Units to develop and execute a customer engagement strategy that leverages established customer base
Lead energy marketing solicitations, developing potential deal structures, negotiate pricing, and identify new market opportunities
Develop a strong understanding of customer objectives and needs to ensure offerings are competitive in current market structures
Understand the customer's decision making process and ensure engagement at various levels within the organization
Understand and communicate to internal stakeholders the customer, industry, regulatory and commercial trends that impact our team's ability to deliver its growth strategy
Requirements:
Undergraduate degree or equivalent
10+ years of experience in the renewable origination industry or equivalent combination of experience and education
Experience in more than one of PJM, MISO, ISONE, ERCOT and ON is considered an asset
Expertise in creating and managing customer relationships
Understanding of the ESG space and how renewables can help customers improve their environmental performance
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Experience in developing, negotiating and implementing commercial agreements that support execution and operation of new renewable power assets that meet the required investment criteria
Ability to establish strong customer relationships and to turn those into strong commercial opportunities
Commercial experience is preferred
