The Development Project Management is eligible for a hybrid WFH/in-office arrangement and will be a key member of the team. The ideal candidate will be adaptable, results-oriented, have a positive attitude and a track record of executing successful community solar and energy storage developments. The position will report to the Director of Operations.
- Lead development activities for 5-10 community solar and energy storage projects, working with internal/external teams in activities including: site selection and constructibility analysis, survey, environmental, engineering, permitting, utility interconnection, zoning, legal, and title
- Prioritize, coordinate, review, and track key development deliverables
- Perform risk assessments at the onset and throughout project life cycles and implement strategies to deliver projects successfully
- Maintain reporting on project budget, schedule, and scope and provide regular updates to the leadership team
- Achieve development milestones on time and on budget
- Keep current with regulatory, policy, and market forces in the US regions in which company is developing
- Build strong relationships with vendors, local municipalities, utilities, land owners, and other parties to advance the development progress and understand the interconnection and permitting processes
- Prepare, manage, and review project agreements including purchase and lease options, interconnection applications and agreements, and power purchase agreements
- Conduct regular visits to project sites and represent the company at local municipality meetings regarding solar and energy storage projects
- Support the Director of Business Development in evaluating new markets and opportunities
- Follow the highest of safety standards and reinforce a culture of safety with both internal and external teams
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in energy, engineering, environmental science, construction management, finance, business or real estate law, economics, business administration, or similar fields
- Expertise in large scale project development, ideally community or utility scale solar
- Demonstrated success in motivating and managing internal and external teams
- Independent and resourceful leader, proficient in overseeing several complex projects simultaneously and accomplishing priorities
- History of excelling in a high-growth, dynamic organization
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in Procore, Transect, Anderson Optimization, and Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Microsoft Project, and PowerPoint.
